WE'RE OFFICIALLY ON SUMMER WATCH! With May just around the corner (it begins on Monday) our 4-Yr. Old Full Day Class hs been busy doing their "ABC Countdown to Summer!"
This countdown evolves around the 26 letters in the alphabet, with each letter having its own special day! We began the week with Art Day for the letter A, the students celebrated the letter B with bubbles and they showed off their crazy hair, and colored with chalk for the letter C. They danced on Disney Day and ate a silly snack of gummy worms and Oreo dirt for the letter D (D is for Dirt).
The preschoolers are having so much fun focussing on the Alphabet and are looking forward to the remaining activities for each letter before they reach their End of Year Celebration!

TOMORROW IS DRESS DOWN DAY!

Prayer Partners are great partners!
Mrs Gagner’s 1st grade class and Mrs Gruener’s 6th grade class are prayer partners. The week before Easter Break, they came together to do a stem activity where they watch a read along "The Great Eggescape" by Jory John and Pete Oswald. It was hard to tell who enjoyed the book more.
Additionally, each group was given a plastic egg and three pennies. They first had to estimate how long the egg would spin first while it was empty, then with one penny, then two pennies and finally three pennies. It helped the first graders understand estimation. After they estimated they then did the activity again and timed the spin.

Don't forget Special Persons Day tomorrow! We can't wait to see you all!

It's been a few weeks but we didn't want to miss shining a light on this wonderful event. Mrs. Gagner did a tournament of books during March Madness whee the kids listened to 16 books. They all voted to determine the Elite 8, then the Final Four and ultimately The Show.
The lessons were plentiful not only in the books but in teaching the kids how to be a responsible voter. They had to keep their vote private and there was no campaigning in the polling place (aka the classroom).
There were many cheers and a few tears but when all was said and done, the Book of The Year was....Pug the Fibber! The book is about a litter pug dog that lies to get the other dog he lives with in trouble. Pug learn his lesson in the end by…..
Did you really think we were going to spoil the ending? You'll have to read the book to find out how Pug learns his lesson!

Welcome Back Wildcats!!!

As we get ready to return to school from break, let's give a big round of applause to everyone who helped make our QM/StB Parish Spring Food Drive a rousing success! From the organizers to everyone who donated, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 4 pallets of food were delivered just from today, and many weekly deliveries were made to the pantry as well.
Thank you one and all, you are the definition of WILDCAT STRONG!

Once last weekend to donate to our Spring Food Drive for the Evergreen Park Food Pantry. Bring your items to QM or St. Bernadette as listed below and let's help make sure nobody goes hungry on our watch!

Do you know any families that are looking for a great school for their soon-to-be kindergartener or pre-schooler? Tell them about QM's Early Childhood Open House this coming Wednesday - April 19th! They can visit the classrooms, meet some of the staff and the kids can engage in some fun and educational activities!
